Phase 1: Illinois CCL Training (8 Hrs.)

GPA’s Phase 1 builds the foundation for Illinois Concealed Carry training. Using the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting curriculum, students develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence for safe firearm handling while preparing for the 16-hour CCL requirement.
Duration: 8 hours (breaks provided)
The full course fee is $139.99 and includes classroom instruction and course materials. Range fees and ammunition are not included and are paid separately at 5 Star Firearms.

Phase 2: Illinois CCL Training (8 Hrs.)

GPA’s Phase 2 course completes Illinois CCL certification with advanced instruction on firearm laws, carry techniques, and live-fire qualification.

Developed with input from a criminal judge and based on Illinois State Police requirements, this 8-hour course emphasizes state and federal firearm laws, safe carry techniques, and equipment use. Students will review the Firearm Owners Identification Act, the Firearm Concealed Carry Act, and Illinois self-defense laws. Completion of Phase 1 is required to meet the full 16-hour CCL requirement.

5-Year CCL Refresher: Training (3.5 Hrs.)

GPA’s 5-Year Refresher course keeps your Illinois CCL current with updated law review, safe handling practices, and live-fire requalification.

This 3.5-hour refresher course is required every 5 years by the Illinois State Police to maintain an active CCL. Students review current firearm and self-defense laws, safe handling practices, and complete the live-fire requalification. Upon successful completion, a new training certificate is issued for renewal submission online or by phone.
